Cathal Rodgers – Journey to the Centre of Itself:  In case you haven’t heard, longform ambient is something that is very difficult to pull off correctly. It’s not about patterns and it throws the entire concept of movement or narrative pacing out the window. The emotive development relies on nuance that dirties up a soundscape that you must become very carefully conditioned to. Rodgers displays that he can not only create the empty, endless sea of a soundscape that I would love to sail around in; but he can move around in that space with a wonderful sense of pacing and delicate, seamless transitions. Following Mister Vapor’s release, Long Winding is promising to be a netlabel that is serious on its quality and picky in their aesthetics, two necessary things that are too less often found in the holsters of internet music champs.
